Dr. Feng joined EMAT group at MIT in 2005. He is currently a postdoctoral associate with Microphotonic Center. He received his Ph.D degree from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada in Apr. 2005 with highest honour. He was the recipient of the Governor General's Academic Gold Medal of Canada (2005), Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) awards (2002 to 2005) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Postdoctoral Fellowship (2005). Before he joined McMaster University in Sept. 2001, he had worked as a research scientist with Apollo Photonics Inc. (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) for two years.
Dr. Feng is mainly working in the area of silicon photonics with emphasis on modeling, design and fabrication of high-index contrast integrated photonic devices and circuits, thin-film solar cells and metal-dielectric nanostructures for high-density light transport and localization. He has authored and coauthored over 30 journal papers and more than 20 conference papers.
